This antique German porcelain molded leaf cabinet plate is attributed to Gebrüder Schoenau of Hüttensteinach, Germany, and beautifully reflects the artistry of late Victorian porcelain.
Exquisitely modeled in high relief with gracefully overlapping leaves, the plate is enhanced with hand-applied gilt accents and softly blended shades of green, blush, and warm ivory that highlight its naturalistic form. When held to the light, the finely crafted porcelain displays a delicate translucency, a hallmark of quality porcelain from the period.
The reverse bears the blue underglaze crossed-line “H” factory mark attributed to Gebrüder Schoenau of Hüttensteinach. Dating to approximately 1890, this elegant cabinet plate offers wonderful sculptural detail and timeless appeal for collectors of antique German porcelain.
